[June 18th] Apéro scientifique : Let’s talk about science & society! [fr]
L’Apéro Scientifique, a casual discussion in French about science and society organised by the Alliance française Dublin and the Embassy of France in Ireland.
We are happy to welcome you on Tuesday June 18th at 6.30pm at the Alliance française Dublin for the third edition of the Apéro Scientifique to discuss the theme "Immortality is near".
Can transhumanity make us immortal? The race to the immortality is near. Previously a simple fantasy, the post-human would be about to be born. Is this due to the combination of three collaborating revolutions compete to model our future: in genetics, nanotechnologies, and robotics.
Scientists and high-tech companies already produce the building blocks of a radically new reality-virtuality: humanity 2.0. Its birth is promised as a singularity produced by the acceleration of the pace of technological change. Can we predict it? Should we hope for it? How can we affect it?
Come discuss with our experts, in French! For this edition, the moderators will be Pr Noel Fitzpatrick (TU Dublin), Alan Hibbitts (Royal College of Surgeons), Dr Amélie Rouger (Teagasc), accompanied by Mr Marc Girod (Salesforce).
