2019-2020 French Study Guide "Stars by the pound" [fr]
The free film study guide and the screening of "Stars by the pound" across Ireland is part of the yearly joint project between the cultural services of the French Embassy and the IFI.
Chosen for the 2019-2020 French Film Project is Stars by the pound by Marie-Sophie Chambon.
When bright and talented Loïs is told by her science teacher that her excess weight means she will never become an astronaut, she faces a battle with her own body image that leads her to hospitalisation. There, she makes friends with three very different girls, all with their own troubles and dreams. Together they find a new strength and venture outside, ready to take on the world, and, if possible, outer space.
The Study guide of Stars by the pound , is available to download. This guide provides French teachers with listening and writing activities, as well as oral production about teenagers and dreams, as well as activities to enhance the French class.
