Campus France at the National University of Ireland in Galway
Campus France held an exhibit stand during the “International Experiences: Work and Travel Abroad” fair of Tuesday, January 29th 2013 in the National University of Ireland in Galway. The fair has been set up further to the request of students. Hundreds of students came to discuss their projects and their wish of going abroad.
Campus France was presenting the higher education system, the catalogue of trainings offered by higher education institutions, the assistantship programme and the FLE-labelled centres in France which enable students to go and improve their proficiency in French in France.
The Alliance Française of Galway was at the stand as well in order to introduce the French courses offered by the Alliance Française of Galway and the French cultural events that take place in Galway.
It has been the opportunity for a representative of the scientific service to meet with Rick Officer, director of the Marine and Freshwater Research Center in Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, and Colin Brown, director of the Ryan Institute in NUI Galway. Focusing on marine research, the ongoing projects, strategy, and partnerships with French research organizations, whether bilateral or for European projects, were discussed for each research center. The scientific attaché met the vice-president for research of the National University of Ireland, Galway, Lokesh Joshi. Following the fair, the head of Campus France in Ireland met a professor from the French department of the University, Catherine Emerson. They discussed together about the existing partnerships between French Universities and the National University of Ireland, Galway.
