French, language of dictionaries [fr]
As part of the Month of La Francophonie in Ireland, Maynooth University and the French Embassy welcome linguist Bernard Cerquiglini, Honorary rector of the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie and Dr. Vilmos Bárdosi, lexicographer at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, for a presentation called: « Le français, une langue de dictionnaires » - "French, language of dictionaries"
This talk about dictionaries and lexicography will be held in French and takes place at 11:00 am on Friday, March 3rd, 2017 in the Callan Building (lecture room 1), Maynooth University - North Campus.
Free event but RSVP requested.
At this occasion, and from March 1st until March 31st, the renowned Russell Library will display an exhibition presenting a collection dictionaries from the XVIIIe and XIXe - in French, bilingual, monolingual and multilingual - and encyclopedias, including the famous Diderot and d’Alembert Encyclopedia.
The exhibition will be open to the public Mondays to Wednesdays (and on Friday March 3rd).
