Great Music in Irish Houses Festival

Antoine Tamestit, viola
Cédric Tiberghien, piano

GIFThe Festival’s first visit to the venerable Royal Irish Academy features France’s Antoine Tamestit who has achieved the rare distinction as a violist, playing at the highest level as a soloist, and in constant demand as a chamber musician and recitalist. On this, his first visit to Ireland, he is joined by his compatriot Cédric Tiberghien, who is making his Festival début, in a programme of gems of the viola literature.

Having forged highly successful solo international careers, performing around the world working with an exciting roster of artists that includes violinist Alina Ibragimova, cellist Gautier Capuçon and the Ebène and Hagen Quartets, the duo’s recent collaboration at the Musée du Louvre garnered huge critical acclaim and has led to further engagements this season, including London’s internationally celebrated Wigmore Hall.
