An early wine in Ireland

First production of the year, Beaujolais Nouveau is an early wine usually produced from Gamay grapes. Growing in the Saône valley, on the foothills of the Monts du Lyonnais, the town of Beaujeu traditionally kicks off the start of Beaujolais Nouveau time on the 3rd Thursday of November.

A tradition this year again respected in Ireland with, for the first time, the participation of the Alliances Françaises from Limerick, Kilkenny and Waterford. A truly Franco-Irish celebration, shared all over the country!

A wine as famous as Hollywood stars!

Mr. Patrick Thévenet, Beaujolais producer in La Chapelle de Guinchay was among the guests in Dublin yesterday. With over 2,000 tons of wine sent to Asia and a worldwide celebration, he recognises the international aura of a wine which sometimes attracts bad press due to its youth.

A friendly event

But this sometimes criticised international star did shine in Ireland yesterday, though not for long as glasses tended to empty dangerously quickly! The true aura of a star!
