Limerick: the first Night of Ideas 2020
The Alliance Française Limerick presents La Nuit des Idées / The Night of Ideas in partnership with French Embassy in Ireland and the Institut Français.
"Make our planet great again" at the very first Night of Ideas in Limerick featuring musical readings and the screening of French documentary "Tomorrow" (Demain), directed by Ciryl Dion and Mélanie Laurent, who travelled the world to investigate concrete solutions to environmental and social challenges. The screening will be followed by a debate on climate change issues.

6 pm - Musical Readings "Make our planet great again" (more details coming soon)
7 pm - Screening of "Tomorrow (Demain)", 2015 French documentary film directed by Cyril Dion and Mélanie Laurent. It is not just a film, it is the beginning of a movement seeking to encourage local communities around the world to change the way they live for the sake of our planet. 9 pm - Debate animated by Dr Loïc Guyon, Head of the Department of French Studies at Mary Immaculate College, Honorary Consul of France in Limerick and Dr John Morrissey, Lecturer in Geography at Mary Immaculate College, University of Limerick.
The debate will start with a presentation of the action of the French government for the protection of the environment, and will continue with a discussion with the audience about the action of the Irish government and what individuals can do at their own level.
