Operation of the consular section

The consular section of the French Embassy in Ireland operates as follows.

Passport and Identity Card Service :

• Appointments for passport and ID card applications can be made online. Appointments for passport and ID card applications are available from Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 12pm.
Passport and ID card collections are carried out without an appointment from Monday to Friday from 12pm to 1pm. In order to respect the sanitary rules, only two users at a time can enter the Consulate. The last authorized entry is at 12.45 pm.
• Appointments for miscellaneous chancery matters (legalisation of signature, certification of true copy, signature of life certificate, registration in the register of French nationals abroad, declaration of loss or theft, etc.) can be made online. Appointments for miscellaneous chancery matters are held on Mondays and Fridays from 2 to 3 pm.
• For proven emergencies (travel due to serious illness or the death of a family member, etc.), please contact the consular section of the French Embassy in Ireland by phone at +353 (0)1 699 0984 or by e-mail.

Visa Service:

• Appointments for visa applications can be made online. Appointments for visa applications take place from Monday to Friday from 9.30 am to 12 noon.
• For proven emergencies (travel due to serious illness or the death of a family member, etc.), please contact the consular section of the French Embassy in Ireland by e-mail.

Registrar’s Office :

Civil status files (publication of marriage banns, transmission of birth certificates, registration of a PACS, request for a duplicate of the family record book...) and files relating to the acquisition of French nationality are processed by post or by deposit in the mailbox of the consular section of the French Embassy in Ireland (66 Fitzwilliam Lane - Dublin 2 - D02 HP38).
Requests for a copy or extract of a civil status record (birth, marriage, recognition...) can be made online.
