JPEG As part of this original academic offer, thanks to Mrs. Hélène McElroy, French lecturer at DIT, the students work on an annual magazine entitled Metropolitain which is wholly written in French. This magazine is an excellent exercise as the students have to apply the linguistics and journalistic skills they that have acquired. The launch of the magazine hosted at DIT on 14th of March 2017, was attended by many students and professors devoted to this brilliant project and gave them the opportunity to introduce the magazine. Among those present were Mrs. Isabelle Soudry and Mrs. Grainne Crean, French lecturers at DIT, who will take over Mrs. Hélène McElroy’s work by the next academic year. 300 copies have been printed.
JPEG The magazine has certainly more than a modern and catchy layout, the articles deal with many different and various topics. From an interview about the Bataclan attacks in November 2015, to the Presidential elections, through a testimonial of an Irish student who spent a few months in Montpellier. Either off-the-wall, or serious and moving, Metropolitain will definitely not leave anyone indifferent.
