Cotutelle/Co-supervised thesis : support to your mobility [fr]
We support mobility of PhD students registered in a cotutelle or cosupervised scheme between France and Ireland.
What is the PhD student mobility programme?
The programme aims at developing scientific cooperation and mobility between France and Ireland.
It allows PhD students, registered in a coturelle or in a cosupervision scheme between France and Ireland, to carry out a research mobility. A grant is provided to the student.
Cotutelle versus cosupervised thesis
- Cotutelle, or joint PhD, is a scheme allowing a PhD student to be registered in two universities, here one in France and one in Ireland. It results in two PhD degrees, one from each institution.
- Cosupervised thesis allows a PhD student to be supervised by two thesis supervisors, belonging to two different universities, here one in France and one in Ireland. The PhD student is registered in only one of the two universities and receives a degree from only one of the institutions.
Who can apply?
The scheme is open to all PhD students registered in a cotutelle scheme in a French or Irish higher education institution or to all PhD students cosupervised and registered, either in a French or an Irish higher education institution.
All research areas are concerned, whether hard, social sciences or humanities.
NB: special attention will be given to projects developed under the "Make Our Planet Great Again" initiative of the French government.
Requirements
The PhD student should be spending at least one month in the other country (France or Ireland).
Funding
The amount of the grant will depend on the length of the stay of the PhD student. It is generally between 1 000 € and 2 000 €. It covers travel and mission expenses.
The host institution should be taking part in cofunding the mobility.
How to apply?
The call for projects is open all year long.
However, it is advised to prepare your application early enough as fundings are attributed according to budgetary year (January to November).
Applicants should fill in, with the consent of their supervisor(s), the registration form below.
