Women in Science - Film & Debate @ TCD [fr]
On the occasion of the International Day for Women’s Rights, the French Embassy in partnership with Trinity College Dublin School of Physics, the German Embassy and the Goethe Institute, invites you to engage, learn and exchange about what it means to be women in science, from Marie Curie to the present day.
More than a century after her two Nobel prizes, Marie Curie is probably still the most famous woman scientist today. But what was is like to be a woman in science at the dawn of the 20th century and what has changed today?
Join us on Friday 6 March at 5.45pm in Trinity College Dublin for the Irish Premiere screening of the Franco-German-Polish film “Marie Curie – The Courage of Knowledge” by Marie Noëlle (trailer)
The film will be followed by a panel discussion featuring:
- Louise Bradley, School of Physics, Trinity (MC)
- Cliona O’Farrelly, Trinity BioScience Institute
- Joanne Dolan, Teen Turn, Irish charity providing teen girls the opportunity to gain hands-on technology experience
- Amélie Rouger, French laureate of a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Career-FIT Fellow, Food Safety Department, Teagasc
The discussion will continue around German and French refreshments in the Fitzgerald Library.
