This year, for Science Week 2018, we are delighted to partner with the Alliance Française Dublin and researchers and artists to offer a line-up of events with a special French touch: the French Festival at Science Week!
French Festival at Science Week
Taking place from the 11th to the 18th November, Science Week is a yearly festival which celebrates science and research with more than 1,000 events organised throughout Ireland.
This year, the Embassy of France in Ireland and the Alliance Française Dublin have partnered with researchers and artists to offer a line-up of events with a special French touch: the French Festival at Science Week!
Science shows, comic art exhibition, talks and interactive workshops: there will be plenty for you to go around!
The Festival opens at The Sugar Club with Effervesciences, 90 minutes of intelligent wonder, suitable for all audiences: a simple, fun and interactive approach to simple scientific phenomena!
We will be then converting the Alliance Française into a place of science, experiments and entertainment.
The first Native Scientist workshop in French in Dublin will allow a group of pupils to develop both their language skills and science knowledge. Parents will learn how they can use a smartphone to teach science to their kids and all of you will discover some scientific phenomena using comic art and drama!

Wednesday 14th November

Thursday 15th November:
4 pm: Comic Book & Science Exhibition: My Thesis in a Comic Strip @Alliance Française Dublin. General Audience. Free entrance. More information here
6.30 pm: Talk: "Learning Sciences on your Smartphone" @ Alliance Française Dublin. Free but registration necessary. More information here
Saturday 17th November:
11am: "Native Scientist" in French workshop. 6-12 years old @ Alliance Française Dublin. Free but registration necessary. More information here
Monday 19th November
6.30 pm: Science Show "Les Cellules Déambulent" followed by a Cell Explorers workshop @ Alliance Française Dublin. All audiences. Free but registration necessary. More information here
