Monitoring and mitigation of greenhouse gases from agriculture and silviculture

In collaboration with the JPI-FACCE, the ERA-NET for monitoring and mitigation of greenhouse gases from agriculture and silviculture (ERA-GAS) is planning to launch a call for transnational research projects on 1st March 2016, under the ERA-NET Cofund scheme of Horizon 2020 of the European Commission.

The scientific scope of the present call for proposals (see here) addresses collaborative projects in the following four research themes:
- Improving national GHG inventories and monitoring, reporting and verification of emissions;
- Refining and facilitating the implementation of GHG mitigation technologies;
- State of the art production systems that are profitable and improve food and forest biomass production while reducing GHG emissions;
- Assessment of policy and economic measures to support emissions reductions across the farm-to-fork and forest-to consumer chain.

The ERA-GAS consortium consists of 21 partners from 12 FACCE-JPI member states. The Joint Research Programming Initiative on Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change (JPI FACCE) was launched by the European Council in October 2010 and coordinated by INRA.
France is part of the ERA-GAS through its National Institute for Agricultural Research, Ireland through its Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine.
