France welcomes UNESCO heritage decision on vineyards

UNESCO World Heritage List/Burgundy and Champagne vineyards – Communiqué issued by the Presidency of the Republic

The French President welcomes the World Heritage Committee’s decision on Saturday 4 July to include the “Climats, terroirs of Burgundy” and the “Champagne Hillsides, Houses and Cellars”, on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It shows the international recognition of those regions’ outstanding heritage and testifies to the diversity and dynamism of our regions, which make up the richness of our country.
